Upgrading from v16.10.56 to current version

Hi all
I want to upgrade Manager but I am using a very old version Manager_v16.10.56.
Do I need to upgrade in stages? ie. v17 then v18 etc.?
I tried to upgrade to latest Manager_v21.4.60 but I cannot load any of my databases.
Any help much appreciated.

You need to upgrade to v20.9.89, which was the last version that had the necessary conversion script. See Business database not valid, desktop version on Windows 10 - #2 by lubos.

Because you have tried to open your file(s) with a newer version, you may be forced to add an older backup first. The backup will be converted. So add the backup first, then install v20.9.89 and open the backup, then install the latest version. You may or may not be able to open your current live database, depending on what else you might have done to try to get things running.

Thank you soooooo much for your help with the above.

Done it and all went smoothly with upgrading to version v20.9.89 and then importing backups from old version I was running v16.10.56.

Can I now upgrade from v20.9.89 to the latest version?

Or do I have to go to any in between versions?

You should be able to update all the way in one step.
