Hi,
I might of had internet problems before, even though I was receiving emails so I don’t think so, but my internet modem was reconfigured. I tried again and now I get an immediate message:
The SMTP server has unexpectedly disconnected.
Why is that?
MG
The error stems from the configeration of your modem. Check if it allows for SMTP connection. You can search the internet for this problem and it often points to modem misconfigeration, most often firewall settings related.
Work fine on Desktop Edition 23.11.29.1191, tested with gmail, Windows 11, No 3rd party anti virus software.
I contacted my internet provider and the problem is not the internet access nor modem. This problem happened after I updated to the new version of desktop yesterday. Is there a way I can go back to an earlier version (maybe a few months) anything will be more up to date than what previously had which was more than 3 o 4 years old.
As you managed to get it to work with Gmail, this advise from your internet provider is questionnable. Also how do you know it is not the modem. Please show screenshots of the modem firewall settings.
I never have used the smtp with Gmail. That must be someone else from the feed.
I use yahoo for my business account with Manager.
@martagisela it seems like @Mabaega is not able to reproduce this issue and they are also using Yahoo as their SMTP server.
Can you try port 465? Do you get the same error?
