Report on Inventory Value per Location

I have this client with 32 fishponds. I have set these fishponds as locations because from time to time, the catfish inventory are transferred from one pond to another. I can easily do this via inventory transfer.

Another concern that I had was tracking the change in category of these catfish as they grow as well as the fish meals being given to them. I’ve somehow manage to achieve this by using production order. I’ll put the the catfish’s new size category and qty in the finished items and put the previous qty and category in the bill of materials. I’m also adding the fish meals in the bill of materials to capitalize its cost to the catfish.

My problem is tracking the value of the catfish per pond as only the qty per location is available in the reports. I’ve tried searching discussions in the forum but nothing seems to be very helpful.

I’d appreciate any input on this matter. thank you.

I tried to get this information directly from Manager and the best I came up with is this Custom Report:

However, there are some problems with this approach like:

  1. Having to run this custom report to all transactions since your start date

  2. Manager moving away from Custom reports

  3. The complexity of dealing with filtering inventory balance reports.

I think it would be easier if Manager multiplied costs to the quantities in Inventory Quantity by Location reports.
