I forgot what I did originally. Therefore I started a new account, made about 40 entries in one area then found that I had backed up the original into which I had made some entries too. My question is - is there a way that the two accounts can be combined into one without having to manually re-enter the latest information?
No. You cannot merge transactions from two businesses into one.
if the 40 entries you made are list items like inventory / customers / suppliers, you can make a batch update and copy the data to a spreadsheet program.
then in the original business file do the same, merge both data in the spreadsheet program and then paste the merged data back.
