I am doing data entry of more than 1000 records of fixed assets.
I have to input them manually one after another, is there a way where i can input them altogether and include divisions as well.
I am trying to do bulk create, however, it takes out Division data so i end up having to input one data after another.
I prefer the old way of just inputing the cost of asset and all details in the same input form.
Use Batch Create on Fixed assets after you set up Divisions.
Step-by-step
1. Turn on Divisions and add your division list
- Settings > Divisions > New Division. Create every division you need first.
2. Create one fixed asset manually as a template
- Fixed assets > New Fixed asset. Assign its Division on the asset form so you can see how the Division field appears for batch. Save.
3. Use Batch Create/Update to import in bulk
- Fixed assets > Batch Operations > Batch Create to get the column headers into a spreadsheet.
- Tip: After making 1–2 example assets manually (with Division set), use Batch Update to copy real rows out so you can see the exact column format Manager expects for Division. Then mirror that format for the rest of your list and Batch Create.
Hello i shared some screenshot before, where i tried to import using the file that manager.io gave to me, with the expected format, but didnt work.
Hi @mraniweneonline, The size of the data may be large. Let’s start with small-data
I had tried yesterday to do one record, but it didnt work.
Its because manager.io doesnt receive tables, it receives text values, separated by tabs, and unfortunately when a column has data that is very long the tabs get confusing for manager for some reason
