I know this has come up before, but may we please get a report for the General Journal (see example below). Also, please add Opening Balance and Running Balance to the General Ledger report. I have an accounting degree and worked as a financial statement auditor…I might be old school, but I believe any accounting software should be able to produce the actual set of books for double-entry accounting. It is possible to view each transaction in journal format by selecting the “Transaction Journal” button in the view screen of a transaction (lower right corner). Although it does not display the description.
However, I agree that an inbuilt Journal Report is needed.
I use a Custom Report with the following parameters that produces a report very similar to what is required:
