Hello, MYOB have recently discontinued the desktop version of myob. Manager is a great option as it is free, so I am trying to transfer everything over. I am having trouble with how to set up the assets. I was going to use the information from the MYOB, the same account codes etc, just to make things easier. I cannot work out how to add a shed that is where the office is and when I set up the business originally the business paid for it. Do I need to add in all that historical asset information? And how do I do that? I have watched many of the videos, but they all look slightly different to the version I had downloaded very recently. I had an old version on another computer that I tried setting up years ago, and it looks quite different to the version I have now. I have managed to work out how to add the bank accounts, inventory, suppliers, customers. But i am having trouble with the assets part. I have enabled the Assets tab. In MYOB for example the fixed assets were numbered - 1-3000 fixed assets, then furniture and fixtures 1-3100, furniture fixtures org cost 1-3110, furniture fixtures depcn 1-3120 etc. these all have current balances. How do I enter in those balances. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am in Australia. thankyou.

thankyou, I have looked through and read both before posting my query, but they look different to the version I have just downloaded. I need more specific help.
It is important that you update the software on your system because there are many positive new changes in the software.
Thankyou of course I have updated to the new version. It is different and my question was how to enter in the balances for those assets, it is not immediately obvious, even after reading all the guides. I abandoned the earlier version several years ago and forgot I had it as I was still able to use MYOB.. it is no longer possible for me to continue with MYOB.
