Me again. While my email is working perfectly, one of my clients has similar problems. I spent an hour making absolutely sure that the data entered and passwords were correct. I have my Manager on my laptop and sat it next to his desktop to ensure both were equal. I still keep getting the following error message: Failure sending mail.
This message is not the same as the ones I had been getting on my Manager. Two of us doubled checked the data entered and it is exactly the same as my setup with the difference being the email address and password. Password verified by checking with he email account. The SMTP server is not the same as mine. He is using xtra.co.nz as a provider.
I remember that my problem was Gmail not allowing it through the system until I got into the Gmail account and changed the settings. Could this be the same problem with his provider?? I searched his account for anything similar to Gmail with no luck.
22820 Step one would not give me a Captcha, Step two didn’t apply as I didn’t use 2 step verification. Step three also didn’t apply to me as did step four. Pity I ignored the step two skip and went directly to the url for less secure apps. Would have saved me a lot of time and finding new words.!!!
The tutorial guide 10643 is a link to 22820. No help at all. It puts me back to the same instructions as 22820.
I think my reply as to Gmail setup is easier and quicker.
Thanks,
Great program!!! Much cleaner than Reckon which is a vastly more expensive program. I have used Quicken/Reckon products since 1986 and taught them at uni.
It is the more general guide, so the one to start at and more relevant if one of your customers is not using gmail (or example xtra.co.nz, yahoo or Microsoft office 365).
