I’ll look at it tomorrow, my power goes off now in good old RSA…
@KeoN001, a few general design notes may be useful to you.
First, custom fields—especially since addition of footers to the program—are meant for information likely to change from one transaction to the next. Yes, they can be made to appear on all new transactions using Form Defaults. But they can easily be edited as you enter a transaction.
Second, because of that, editing a custom field on a transaction changes only that transaction, never prior transactions.
Third, editing a custom field in Form Defaults changes only future transactions.
Fourth, content that will change rarely should now go into footers. Once there, the same footer can be used on multiple transaction types.
Fifth, changing a footer does change prior instances of it.
Based on the information you have shared, you should consider several things:
-
Determine whether you can eliminate duplicate custom fields. For example, you have more than one custom field named “Telephone” assigned to different entity types. You could use the same custom field for all.
-
Decide whether you want to be able to change certain information on a routine basis and leave such content as custom fields.
-
Decide which information will rarely change, such as banking details, and convert those custom fields to footers. As you do this, keep in mind the retroactive nature of footer changes as opposed to custom fields fixed by Form Defaults.
Thanks for your assistance Graham, greatly appreciated…

Hi Joe, your observation identified the problem for me quickly, thank you…

Tut, thanks for your input, I’ll certainly take cogniscance of it and implement what may seem appropriate…
Thanks for reverting back to me, it is appreciated. Finally, as per Graham’s observation, is Manager no longer doing News Letters…?

I don’t know anything about newsletter publication currently. As someone pointed out a few days ago, the signup link has disappeared. I have not received one in at least six weeks, perhaps longer. I have not kept track.
