Editing notes on sales invoice

I used notes at bottom of invoice for bank details. I need to edit all future invoices as bank details changed

Do you have a question?

I need to edit the notes on my sales invoices, but cannot find where to edit the note

What note?
There is nothing in manager called “Note”

Are you referring to a custom field? to a custom theme?

Post a screen shot of the edit screen of an invoice so that we can see what you are asking about

We have notes at the bottom of our invoices with bank details. I need to edit this note for all future invoices

As I said, you need to show the edit screen not the view screen

I dont know where to edit the notes. Can only edit individual invoices. Need it to populate automatically on all invoices

@Lawnpro You may have set your bank details in notes under form defaults for your Sales Invoices.

See:
https://www.manager.io/guides/14059

Cann this form details note be deleted?

@Lawnpro, based on what you have shared, it is impossible to know what you are doing. You might have used a custom field, form defaults, footers, or custom themes. So you need to do two things to get started:

  • Tell us what edition (desktop, server, or cloud) and version number you are using.
  • You need to follow @Joe91’s request and post a screen shot of the Edit screen of one of your sales invoices. Show the entire screen. If this does not all fit within one screen shot, use multiple shots, because there is a good chance the important information to resolve your problem is at the bottom of the form.

Hi
I use cloud version 22.12.26.574. attached is 3 pics of the edit page on a sales invoice.

Thanks

Please do not post photos of your screen. They are hard or impossible to read. Use a screen grabber tool of your operating system. Capture the entire transaction form.

One thing I can tell is that your custom fields for customer number and due date are entirely unnecessary. They duplicate information already available.

Also show a screenshot of Business Details in Settings. It doesn’t look like your bank information is coming from the sales invoice form.

Please show the edit screen for form defaults for sales invoices

Also, try to show theview and edit screens for the same transaction, as if you show different transactions they will have different data and thus make it difficult to diagnose the error

@Lawnpro, I would like to know where you got the image shown in post #5. It appears to be unrelated to anything else you have shown. If that is a real sales invoice in Manager, please post a screen shot of the entire View screen. Then post a screen shot of the entire Edit screen.

Based on what we have seen, the bank details under the Notes heading in that screen shot cannot have come from anywhere in the program. You do not seem to be using a custom field for Notes on sales invoices. You are not using footers. There is nothing in Form Defaults. And you are not using a custom theme.

However, that view of whatever purports to be Invoice 5003 does not look like any transaction with Manager’s default display. Do you have any recollection of when or how you entered those bank details?

Is it a Classic Custom Field?

I have this in a Test business but no idea where “High Street Bank, High St” comes from

No, this is a custom field on the Sales Invoice

Sorry for the late response @Lawnpro,

But it seems as though you have deleted the Custom Field named “Notes” or removed its placement from Sales Invoices.

Try the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields > … and search for your Notes field, if you are able to locate it, then Edit it and add Sales Invoice (as well as Recurring Sales Invoice, if and when available) in its Placement field.

  2. If option (1) doesn’t work for some reason, it’s quite possible that you have deleted your Custom Field by mistake. In this case, go to History, undo the changes you made in step (1) and then filter by “Custom Field” and “Delete” as illustrated below. If you are able to find the deleted field press View > Undo.
