How do I deactivate a business without removing it?
What edition - Cloud, Server or Desktop?
You cannot deactivate a business. However, if you remove it, it remains in the Trash folder inside your application data folder unless you proactively delete it from there. So you can always restore it from the Trash folder. Or, you can make a backup and store that somewhere else, which is what I would recommend.
If you want the business to remain on the list on the Businesses page, rename it with a prefix so it will move alphabetically to the bottom of the list. For example, XXX Modern Products Company.
I believe creating a backup, then deleting the business, will do it.
I would create a backup fr that business and delete it.
I hoping in future deactivating a business is made possible. As an Accountant i render some accounting services and i have quite a number of clients under my account. For non or delayed payments, I would like to have such a tool in order to demand payments.
What connection is there between deactivating a business in Manager and collecting payments from your clients? If they won’t pay their bills, why would they care that you check a box?
If your point is to deny delinquent clients access to their records, removing their businesses would be a more powerful tool.
If you are hosting you could change their access rights to read only
@Patch I think your method is best.
I think that one should do both: First reduce access rights to read only and email the client accordingly with a deadline for payment of service. If payment not on time then backing up the business, deleting it and only re-import it when the client pays would be a good approach.
