Custom Fields on Project forms

Kindly include custom fields on Project forms. They are seriously needed

In line with the same, you may also include custome themes and custome title. Custome title because not all business would like to name the forms as “projects”. In some instances I would like to call them ‘‘Jobs’’ or in cases of transport business “Trips”. Thanks

The View screens displayed for projects are reports, which are hard-coded. Themes are only available for transactions displayed via Liquid. The “Projects” name is applied at the tab level, and tabs cannot be renamed.

I agree with the general idea to be able to add custom fields for adding the many other relevant data to the Project which doesn’t typically live inside the related SO/SI/PO/PI, etc. This is not-accounting as much as ease of auditing projects.

Projects currently has only one field: ‘Name’, however typically Projects will at a minimum have a unique identifier Project ID for ‘Reference’ and a general ‘Description’ of the Project.
The unique Reference ID is needed for where there are multiple Projects, all with the exact same Description of scope (i.e. repetitious projects).

Being able to enter both the Projects ID ‘Reference’ and it’s ‘Description’ will save users on time and mistakes when assigning Projects to line items inside SI’s & PI’s

Maybe something like this mock-up would be more intuitive (with ability to add user defined custom fields)

Next, making both the Project ’ Reference’ and ‘Description’ fields appear in the dropdown tab would be more meaningful and helpful to the user when selecting.
As duplicate Project Names or Project ID’s without a Description are problematic to identify and assin accurately.

Why do you not simply type the Project Identifier in the Project Name, i,e “JN-00058 Carting for function”?

Yes, that is a rough hack just to get by, but in the interests of providing some quality feedback to further develop the product, I felt this was a relatively easy improvement to implement.

Two parts:

  • Provide 2 system fields … ‘Reference’ and ‘Description’
  • Provide ability to add custom fields for user development.

i Also Support the Idea Of Custom Fields For projects tab.
Many Times a Project is for a particular period and we need a custom field to record Duration of a project.
Also We need A Custom field for recording The name of Employee who is Managing The Project.

Ya I’m super agree with this, as other than the Name, there is much more information that require to be record in each of the project in order to make the project more informatic rather than just a name.
