Hi @Tut and @lubos I really think this is a major problem created on older macs with the latest upgrade. I cannot print and when I select pdf the system just crashes. Everything was working perfectly prior to the upgrade. @tut you say it is a computer problem not a manager problem, but while you may be sort of correct, telling people they have to upgrade their complete systems is not a viable answer just to run manager. How can we open an older version,
I said that quite a while ago, before more users reported problems. Since then, it has become clear there are some technical issues, but they are elusive. @lubos has reported he cannot reproduce them. I cannot reproduce them. Some testing on macOS versions as old as 10.13 has failed to reproduce them. So it is a little hard to know what is going on.
@lubos told me earlier he wanted to change the minimum system requirement for Manager to macOS v10.14. I encouraged him not to. But eventually the world moves on and applications are no longer operable on older operating systems. Your saying that is not a viable answer does nothing to change the truth of the statement. Iāve had to upgrade not just operating systems but entire hardware suites in the past because of obsolescence. At the time, I felt the the same way you probably do, that I didnāt want to be forced to give up functional hardware and software. But we have little choice except to keep using antiquated software. Your reluctance centers on not wanting to give up those old 32-bit applications. Think of it this way: none of them are being supported by their developers any more anyway, and havenāt been for years. They are security risks.
If you want to open older versions of the program, you are going to have to download them from GitHub and restore old backups made with those earlier versions. You probably donāt want to do that, either.
Guys best is to just pay for the online version, it will save you many hours of frustration and miscommunication, although you will have to resubmit all info from your last back-up. To be honest none of the methods worked I was instructed to follow to get my lost info back, I tried everything everyone said, and I thought it was just my Mac late 2013 with software 10.14.6 which gave trouble, until more and more people started to complain about exactly the same errors.
The impression I got from Manager programmers was that I was an imbecile because I felt stupid after the update, and could not get the program to work properly, just to see now that the problem lies with Manager and not with me. It took me two weeks to do chops and changes with every method I was told to do, and each time I just got an error; as it was nearing Financial year end, I just had give up on all the time wasting methods and just pay for the expensive yearly payment of the online Manager option, not that we are in the position to afford it, due to the recession in our countryās building industry from 2016 till date, and the other back recoil of lockdown last year. But desperate time calls for desperate measures.
regards
Leo
Hi I also had the same problem ek is ook afrikaans spreekend so as jy verstaan is dit cool as nie bad luck. ek het ook die probleem gehad en jy sal nie glo nie ek het my system date & time formats reggemaak sodat dit ooreenstem met manager se settings en toe werk dit weer.
I said I also had the same problem and when I change my pc data format and date format in my settings as same as the managers settings format and then the application stated to work again.
Hi @Tut thank you for your input, @lubos has fixed my problem, and tells me it will be rectified in a couple of days.
His reply was
Iām pretty sure this issue will be resolved within a few days.
For the time being, when desktop edition on your Mac is running, can you go to Safari and type:
This should allow you to work on Manager with printing and PDF working until the issue is fixed within the proper Manager window.
I has sorted out my problem, thank you @lubos
@norfolkislandam I tried this solution in Safari and Firefox both work for me, thanks for the persistence to resolve @tut and @lubos looking forward to final fix in a few days and using later versions. Regards Damien.
Hi@lubos, has this now been fixed permanently. I noticed the other day I still had to open with your fix of going into Safari and typing in the link you provided
Regards
norfolkislandam
what is that fix that your are saying about and how it can be done?
i pasted this link in safari and i said safari couldnāt connect to the serverā¦ ? does this related to the print / save pdf section in the new manager version errors?
