Batch update not working

I’m trying to do a batch update but it doesn’t appear to be working.

I’m able to copy the data to clipboard and make the necessary changes in excel however when i paste the updated data into the field and click “next” its gets stuck and wont move paste this field.

I’ve done this plenty of times in the past and never had a problem but this time its just not co-operating. I’ve tried a few times across a couple of days and it just keeps doing the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

What error did you get?
I just tried Batch Create and Batch Update for Purchase Order, it works fine in Cloud Version.

Thanks for your comment.

I didn’t get an error it just sits there spinning indefinitely. I even tried to limit the changes to 2 sales orders and it still just sits there with the little circle spinning forever.

I’m in cloud version too so I’ll try restarting my cloud server to seem that helps.

Just restarted the cloud server and no change. Did a batch update to 2 sales orders and when i clicked the next button it just sits there with the circle spinning.

What if you try updating one transaction without changing its contents, copy it to the clipboard and paste it in the text area. If this goes well, it means there is a problem with your excel data.

Thanks for trying to work through this with me.
Just did as you suggested and it’s still just sitting there with the circle spinning. :frowning:

Please try the following:

  1. Clear your browser cache and restart the browser. Also try different browser
  2. Paste the copy to clipboard information the the spreadsheet (step 1) but do not change anything.
  3. Ensure that you select all the columns and rows that contain information in the spreadsheet and copy back (Batch step 3) and click next.

If this still gives a spinning result then more needs to be done to explore why you are the only one reporting this as it is related to your system. Please take your time to do the above as errors are easily made and repeated.

Something else to try potentially is pasting in a text editor (such as Notepad in Windows) instead of Excel, and then copying that back to Manager.

What if you used codes instead of the guids (keys). Will it still hang?

Thanks @eko and @GrahamvdR. I’ll try both these suggestions and comeback to you.

@Ealfardan I’m not entirely sure what you mean by your comment. Sorry. I’m not a programmer so sometimes the advice goes over my head.

Another thing that just came to mind. I use manager in Chrome. Apparently Chrome had an upgrade last weekend and it’s caused trouble with some websites. Could this be the reason only my system seems to be affected?

I use Chrome too and always update and do not experience any issues like you report. Even when messing up the copy to. Not sure what is causing the spinning but as mentioned could be a cache issue.

Just tried doing a batch update on my phone and it worked. Pretty safe to say it’s something to do with my computer and obviously not manager.

I’ll keep working on it at my end and see if I can resolve the problem.

Thanks

found a solution…if anyone else has this trouble this i what i did and it fixed the issue.

• Go to the Chrome Settings
• Reset settings
• Restore settings to the original defaults.
• Restart Chrome
• Then try completing a batch update in manager
