after doing a back up , when opening it asks what file do we want to open it with.
Have you imported the backup? You cannot open the backup file directly. That capability was removed years ago.
To support @Tut please see screenshot below that explains that in Manager Businesses page (the standard opening page) you can import and remove businesses. Just out of curiosity why would you want to open the backup, especially after creating it?
