I am trying to migrate a business to the cloud. I uploaded a backup yesterday and there were numerous transactions missing, so I updated Manager, attempted to make a backup, and now I cannot make a proper backup. When I attempt to do so, I cannot find it. I attempted to change the backup location, but when I click on the bottom of the start page, it turns into a blank screen. I searched my computer for the system file with the address “Users/christine/.local/share/Manager”, but it doesn’t exist.
Thanks for any help
The address at the bottom left of your screen has nothing to do with your backup. That is the location of your application data folder. In your case, it is the default location, indicating you have not changed it. See Manage application data folder contents | Manager.
The folder is hidden, so you will need to toggle your Finder to show hidden files. Press Command + Shift + . (that’s a period as the third key). Do the same thing to toggle back to regular view.
Again, none of that is related in any way to your backup. What version of macOS are you running?
Hi Tut,
Thanks for your reply.
I am running 10.14.6 on a MBP mid 2012.
Cheers,
Christine
There seems to be something about macOS 10.14.6.
Can you update to Catalina? It is free. The only downside is that you will have to give up any old 32-bit applications.
It’s those applications I can’t give up.
Any other suggestions for getting the backup to the cloud? Is there an older version that I can download to get it to another computer and then download the latest version (and then upload to the cloud?)
Search the forum. This is being discussed in other topics.
Will do. Thanks for the advice.
