@Ealfardan, not that I use Cloud or tried with Server but would you not loose all your user and permission settings when re-importing? If not then a good idea to work offline with a Desktop version and re-import.
You donât lose the detailed user permissions, you only use the user-business assignment.
Also, itâs a good alternative, say, if you need to respond to a government enquiry. Itâs always good to know if you have alternatives.
Sure, that is why making backups is essential. However, I prefer the server version (or those with cloud their online version) for making changes. It is handy that the backups can be read by the offline Desktop version for reasons you mention,
Youâre absolutely right, but for server and desktop editions there are two caveats:
- You already have access to the data folder, so you can easily take backups
- Itâs highly unlikely for the user to manually update to a problematic version thatâs available for less than 2 hours.
