I would like to track the performance of each sales representative based on the actual payments (receipts) received from customers, not just on the invoices issued.
Is it possible to:
Assign each sales representative as a Division / Cost Center.
Link each customer receipt to the respective sales representative.
Generate reports showing the total payments collected by each sales representative.
Could you please advise the best way to set this up in Manager?
Before I address your points, I just want you to know that linking Users to Transactions is something that the developer has hinted at one point in time.
That aside, for now:
You will have to create a Division for each salesperson.
This can be done outside of Receipts, namely from Sales Invoices tab, where you can track both the Amount and Balance due per Division and the difference is more or less your realized sales by salesperson.
You can achieve this setup from Sales Invoices > Advanced Queries
I would like to suggest a feature enhancement related to tracking sales representatives performance
Currently, we can use Divisions or Cost Centers to group transactions, but this approach has a limitation divisions are primarily designed for organizational or cost allocation purposes, not for sales tracking.
My idea is to introduce a dedicated Sales Representative field that automatically populates based on the employee list (restricted to those under the Sales Division).
This would allow the system to:
Link each Sales Invoice and Receipt to a specific sales representative.
Generate reports showing both sales volume and actual payments collected by each rep.
Automatically assign sales reps without manually managing Divisions.
This way, the system can provide a more accurate picture of sales performance and collections per employee, while keeping Divisions and Cost Centers focused on financial reporting and departmental analysis.
I believe this enhancement would be very useful for organizations with active sales teams.
