I believe that the reason is to make it clear the amount is without any 100ths and to clarify that there is nothing missing

I always counter with that problem writing amount in words for the invoices and checks. Recently discovered the tool that get the job done. you simply have to write the number that you want to convert and amount will be converted instantly. life saver tool.

This is to be solved by custom theme. Custom theme can be applied to any document including credit/debit notes.
