In the latest version (26.5.10) I have removed Total amount in words checkbox from sales invoices.
I have decided Total amount in words is something that belongs to custom themes.
If you’ve been using this checkbox, I have externalized it into custom theme. The good news is that custom theme can be used on any printed document so even though there is no checkbox on sales invoices, you can have amount in words on any document now through custom theme (quotes, orders, receipts etc).
You can either make custom theme yourself or I have created custom theme which adds amount in words to your documents.
Go to:
Then click Custom Themes
Find the theme:
And click Install button
Now in sales invoice or any other document, select this custom theme:
Adding an extension solely to display the amount in words feels too excessive. It would be more practical if this functionality were handled on the server side, as before. That way, users could simply choose whether or not to show it in their custom themes.
The problem is that Manager supports 80 languages, and the amount in words feature never even supported all of them—only about 10. Then, even within the same language, there can be multiple numbering systems. For example, writing out Indian Rupees vs. Euros will be different due to the Indian numbering system.
Amount in words seems like a presentation layer feature because that field is derived from a single number (there is no calculation behind it), and therefore it should be within a custom theme.
This was my position even before, but asking every user to craft a custom theme just to have amounts in words shown on their invoices was too much to ask. So I’ve tried to support key languages until a better solution comes along. That better solution is AI crafting a custom theme with exactly what you wish to be shown on documents, including “amount in words.”
This custom theme exists so that people can replicate the old function in the new version of Manager. Paradoxically, with this approach, you can now have the amount in words on any document and also turn any figure into an amount in words. So it’s not worse—it’s a different implementation that provides more flexibility.
@Mo.Saleh There is Extensions button in top navigation and then again under Settings tab. You are meant to click on Extensions in top navigation. I will need to rename extensions in Settings tab to something else.
@lubos Earlier one was too smooth , its very Complicated, in Custom theme section we can use only one option , If We need same time Raw option that we can’t use it. Request you please Rollback in Previous Version, if you want to Improve the Invoicing things Kindly Add QR Code Option from there user can verify that invoice is original or not.
