I’m thinking of using manager for a startup business. One of the things that will be used a lot is tracking how much time was spent doing various tasks by employees, think time clock. Is there any way to do this using manager? or would i need to use something else to do this? I was looking at the billable time module, and it would almost work but it doesn’t allow tracking time against employees, just customers.
It also doesn’t have a timer function where i can hit start and stop while working on projects to calculate time spent automatically.
What do others do for this?
I don’t think Manager is the tool to use for this - it could be done but would involve a lot of work
If you have a lot of employees it mght be worth looking at products designed to track time spent by employees
If it is a startup business, I would wonder if this is the right aspect to devote a lot of time to - there are probably more important activities to work at rather than tracking employees time by the second
I’d recommend you use something external to Manager, dedicated to the task. Manager is an accounting system and is not intended for use in the way you’re describing.
As long as you use something popular and heavily recommended you should be fine.
