My brother uses Manager on a Windows system. He’s quite satisfied with the program, but wants to switch to Linux (Ubuntu) now!
Is it possible to easily make the transition with a backup of the database?
Any hints concerning possible issues might be helpful!

This is certainly possible. Just import a backup file to the new Linux installation. Read the Guide: Backup, restore, import, and transfer businesses | Manager.
