Some of my customers informed me that they cannot “View” the sale invoice e-mailed to them. They are getting the following message: This site can’t be reached
127.0.0.1 refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
I suppose that some aggressive spam-blockers or anti-virus programs do not like Manager invoices? Or is there something else going on?
MacBook - OS Ventura 13.3.1 - Manager version 23.5.822 - Local
None of them would ever be able to connect to your desktop machine which is on IP 127.0.0.1 You will have sent something email to a customer with a link to a customer portal. For desktop versions that does not work.
Notes
In the desktop edition, all features described in this Guide work, but only on your computer. A customer visiting the hyperlink for the portal would not be able to access it.
What exactly are you putting into ideas, @Ealfardan? You can’t add a live connection to the desktop edition. Nor can Manager ever overcome IT problems on the user’s end.
The desktop version does not support a customer portal, so email (without using the “obsolete pdf”) is no longer functional.
Lubos has said he will add a solution such as emailing the invoice/payslip directly instead of attaching a pdf document containing the invoice/payslip. The functionality is also useful for those who want to send their documents directly to their clients rather than forcing them to goto their website to see the document.
Having an idea thread to record the idea makes some sense imo. Particularly as a related thread is locked Emailing of reports - #16 by lubos
If you remember that PDF attachments were the norm but since PDFs were moved to obsolete features, emails now don’t send attachments by default and instead gets a link to the document.
This link doesn’t work with Desktop edition emails for obvious reasons.
And since the Desktop edition should in theory do everything except multiuser support, I believe that something has to be done to enable sending of documents.
That was the entire reasoning behind putting this in ideas.
I know this is an older thread, but I support what @Ealfardan says. In fact, without the PDF email availability, the software becomes more of a burden, than anything else. It took me 3 times as long to send out the NFP’s invoices this year, than last.
I’m being told it’s no longer time effective and to find another software or go back to the old ways o_O
It’s frustrating
@Janine , you do not “need” to use the print function.
Go to settings>obsolete features>internal pdf generator and enable it (version 23.7.27.928)
It still works.
I am aware it still works, we are still using it ourselves but do not expect any more support. @Janine before experimenting just create backups, make sure you note the Manager version you are using so you can download that one and reinstall if the new version has messed things up.
That is not my understanding, which is why this topic was put in the ideas category. Lubos has previously said the replacement will allow emailing documents from Manager (but likely not in pdf format).
