Statement to PDF has unreadable characters

For some reason, one of the businesses on my server PDF generator is giving weird characters on customer statements only, invoice,s, etc. are fine. I tested it with other businesses and it worked fine. See below:

Is this a bug or a setting with the language we are missing?

The issue was the custom theme under the report period setting was set. Put it back to plain it was resolved.
