At the main screen (Summary screen) you can enter a period of time to show in the Summary screen. When I enter a period, the correct data is presented in the Summary screen. But when I uncheck the period, in the main screen there is still a period active. See the screenshot’s.

What was the date of your first ever transaction for this business file?
The purpose of that check box is to show the profit and loss for a designated period only, instead of the entire life of the business.
The Summary screen has to show the values for some period so if you do not select a period it will use a default period
The balance sheet date starts at 28-02-2029
The first transaction in this file would be 04-01-2015.
That’s true. But when I don’t enter a period of time it should be showing all the transaction in the business. However it still showed only a part of it. In the screenshot you can see that there is no period filled in. So the complete business should me in the summary. But that at the right side the Profit and loss is showing only the summery of the transactions starting at 23-01-2025.
I have about 20 Business in Manager. This problem is only in one of them. All the others it’s working just fine.
If you have 20 businesses for which things work correctly, what do you think is the likelihood there is a problem with Manager instead of that one business? We have seen exactly none of your entries and only a sliver of your Summary page, showing a strange end date. It seems far more likely you have made some mistake.
There is nothing there what you can do wrong. I have no clue. It’s working fine when I enter a period to filter on, so.
I did made a backup of the business, and imported that backup as a new buisiness into manager. In the new copy the problem was gone. It has to be something in Manager it self. Maybe there is a cache or old data that is gone in the new copy of the business. Who knows. It’s solved for me now.
I changed the name of the original business and the problem was there gone also. Strange but true.
IMO. There should be a date:
beginning date usually beginning of Financial Year and End date End of Finacial Year.
(or you can select any other period but that can be done as a report)
Summary Screen is just a update on current situation,
If no date it uses all from start date or beginning date from 1st transaction to current date
Glad to hear you somehow resolved this.
It’s possible that this is benign database corruption issue that got resolved. That could be why this cannot be reproduced.
I faces the same issue with one of my businesses
The end date marked correctly the date of the last transaction but the start date was wrong
So I checked the checkbox and determined manually the start date and I chose the Today as the End date
