Simplifying setup

I was looking to simplify the user interface by removing the “Journals” item since it is unused. Unfortunately, when I go into the Settings section, the option to remove it is disabled.

Any ideas how to remove the journals feature from the menu? There are no journals entered.

It can’t be removed.

Fair enough. They will likely be used down the road anyway.

There are four core elements to the program. Summary Page, Journals, Settings and Reports.

Eventually I suspect as the program develops Journal Entries will be phased out but even I use the Journal entries half a dozen times each year. There are some things that can only be done via Journal Entry.

An accounting program is nothing without journal entries.

All accounting transactions are technically Journal Entries. But with programs like Manager, you can create those Journal Entries in a more user friendly way such as when you do a bank receive for inventory goods. You are effectively doing a journal entry, you are just not using the tab Journal Entries.

The future of accounting should be to eliminate the need to use Journal Entries directly as this ensures that mistakes are avoided by people who don’t do their debits and credits the right way around.

Why dont you think about keeping the accounting part to those qualified, and keep the invoicing part to those not qualified.
