Sharing Manager File with Accountant

Hey guys,

I’m sure this has been asked and answered (I remember reading something somewhere, but can’t recall where). Just after some confirmation.

I aiming to share my Manager file with my accountant, once off - no need for live updating. Couple of questions:

  1. Is it sufficient for me to simply ‘Backup’ the business I wish to share, and give him the file?

  2. Is it correct that he does not need to install Manager to access my file? Running Windows, he can just open the file directly through Explorer?

  3. Is there a way to add password security to the Manager backup files? I don’t remember setting up a password or any security when I first set up Manager.

You will need to send him the Backup file, the link to downloading the Manager application and the link to the Guides showing how to import the Backup file and anything else he would like to learn about how to use Manager.

You cannot set up a password for the Desktop edition.

  2. No. He needs to install the desktop version on his computer
  3. Not in Manager. However you can zip the file adding a password to add some security.
