I just updated to the current version of manager and the sale # field is gone. I looked at the other posts and it seems like the answer is to use a custom field. But when I search for the info in that field in the sale invoice tab it does no show up.
I also tried adding the Sales Order tab, I am able to assign the order number there but when I copy to the sale invoice the number is still not searchable in the sale invoice tab.
A new feature is called “Edit columns”. You ned to enable what you’d like to see including custom fields. You can find edit columns in the same line as Batch create, Batch update, etc.

I see. But it doesn’t look like those fields are searchable. I tried adding both in the line item area of the sale invoice as well as separately as a text field at the bottom. Neither option allowed me to search for the number in the field.
During the holiday season I will often have multiple orders on the same day for the same item. I assign internal reference numbers (which I need) and have used the order # field to add a receipt number from etsy. This is really the only way to “assign” my reference number to a specific order.
I was able to clone an old form so the number field comes along but that is still not searchable. Thus far the only work around I can think of is to add that number to the sale invoice description.
The only things searchable in the Sales Invoices tab (or any other tab) are what show onscreen. If you have set a custom field to display in the tab listing with the Edit Columns feature, it will be searchable.
Thank you for the help! I appreciate your time.
