My laptop crashed but the data from the hard drive was recovered. However, the Manager could not retrieve the data for a family trust in which there are not many transaction during a year. The Backup file for company was recovered in Manager on another laptop.
Could someone help me recover the data for the Trust from the Backup file.

You can search for files with .manager extension.
Other than that, data recovery isn’t always 100% successful and in case data gets permanently lost or corrupted on a hard drive, it is impossible to recover if you don’t have a backup on another drive.
The backup had been saved for a Trust and Company and recovered and put on portable hard drive. On another laptop the data for the Company was retrieved by the Manager but the data for the Trust. I can send the Trust backup file to someone who can help to recover.

If you have a backup, just search for files with .manager extension and restore them from your Businesses > Add Business > Import Business in Manager
Point Manager.io Backups in future to a folder on your computer linked to Dropbox or OneDrive or some other cloud storage. Regular complete backups of your computer to an EHD are a must, too.
You can’t leave yourself in a position where you have to rely on recovery of a broken file.
