I am trying to generate month wise Receipts and Payment summary report but the period is showing frim 1st May to 31 May-23 instead of 1st may to 7 Seo-23, Can any one help me?
My report set up is as below

There is nothing wrong with the report generated from the edit screen. In your edit screen you created the main entry to be from 1-5-2023 to 31-5-2023 and that is also the date range of the report. The additional entries are so call “comparative columns” and reflect the date ranges under the end-dates for each specified. The last entry is from 1 September until 7 September (7-9-023).

so are you saying that the solution is to add a new “Comparative column”, move it to the top, and then enter 1st May to 7th Sept?
Will that resolve the issue of the heading in the report ?
Why don’t you try it and see.
The first column is what the report is generated for and should be used without comparative columns for reporting purposes. The period of the report is the period indicated in the first column.
The additional ones are comparative and thus helps you to compare other periods to the reporting period and is suitable for internal analysis use. So as @Tut says try it out.

For some reports, comparative columns can be added. These can be useful for comparing current performance with past accounting periods.
By the way from your report it seems that there are no entries at all for 1-31 May 2023 so why include it?
