Has anyone got Manager-Server running successfully on a Raspberry PI?
I have successfully installed it on an Ubuntu VM, but would like to get it running on a Pi.
Yes, I have scoured the forum but cannot find any success stories for the Pi.
If memory serves correctly, there are not any success stories, though there have been previous discussions.
Thanks @Tut
@bobferg try this release:
https://github.com/Manager-io/Manager/releases/latest/download/ManagerServer-linux-arm64.zip
It’s basically ManagerServer compiled to arm64 which should work on RaspberryPi.
Just unzip the archive, then launch with
./ManagerServer
Thanks @lubos
That worked .
But too slow to be of any practical use on a Pi 4B with 4gb ram
Now at least I know…
Running it on a Ubuntu VM in the AWS cloud is quite snappy and is working well for me
Thanks again for a terrific product
Update
Whilst business imports and backups are rather slow, it is quite usable in all other ways I’ve tested so far
I’ll do some more fiddling next week and report back…
That would be a network issue, such as poor internet bandwidth rather than a Manager one nor a RaspberryPi one.
Correct - bad wifi
Working quite acceptably now
For snappy results you should consider adding more Ram to the RaspberryPI.
It’s actually ok with 4gb, but 8gb should make a diff
I know that they make pi’s with 8gb, but good luck sourcing one atm
Is it possible to add ram to an existing pi?
My bad, adding RAM indeed not possible.
If the program is not crashing due to low memory, then adding more RAM won’t make any difference. The limiting factor is RAM speed and processor speed. Not RAM capacity.
Does Manager not try to copy all data into RAM with for example batch create? If not then no issue but if yes that would mean that it will slow down when using large data sets.
Just for the craic, I spun this up on a RockPro64 device running on Armbian OS (headless).
Pleasantly surprised with the levels or performance, and it certainly is not dragging it’s feet. All very useable over both my local LAN and across a Tailnet.
The RockPro64 is similar to a Pi in form and concept (but IMHO, simply better).

2 or 4gb?
Where did you buy your RockPro64?
I have now installed Manager and briefly tested on both 2Gb and a 4Gb models.
I cannot see any obvious material difference in terms of response and performance between either model.
My first RockPro64 was a gift from a friend, and my others I have bought direct from Pine64 - ROCKPro64 Archives - PINE STORE
