I’ve been using Quickbooks desktop since 2010 and I’m still using v21 on my desktop, but I realize there’s no more desktop versions, so I’m thinking about changing to something else. Manager.io has gotten good reviews. I understand there’s no direct QB import feature. I mainly use bank accounts, credit card accounts now. But I previously used Sales Receipts, so that data is in there too. Is it even possible to export all such data from QB to import into this software? I can’t even find a way to export for example, the register for a bank account in QB.
There is someone working on a tool to migrate QB data to some open data accounting format which could be then imported to Manager. I’m not sure at what stage the project is at but I agree it would be very useful for people test things out with their real historical data from QB. I will update this topic with new information as I find out more.
Interesting, can you tell me who that someone is, or a link to their project so I can read about it?
I just get a transaction report in the custom reports and save file as CSV and import it.
Reports→ Report writer→Cashbook→Transaction List→ here you pick what you want and the date
then I click sheet
and then copy and past into excel and save as a CSV takes me 3 minutes
I’m talking to developer of this project:
It’s in early stage but I’m open to get some kind of interchange data format off the ground to allow transferring data between various accounting systems.
Cool, thanks for that, looks promising!
