I want to suggest a note-pad feature
Why? All popular operating systems already include such a feature. Why should this be duplicated in an accounting application?
It will enhance communication, instructions, and To-Do note within the application. It’s very important for responsibility and workflow distribution between superior and subordinate especially remote job. And the instructions can be referred to when need arises.
All those purposes can be fulfilled by your operating system’s app. None has anything to do with accounting. The developer already has nearly 300 ideas for accounting improvements in the pipeline.
I believe you want to leave notes on transaction or items in Manager.
I would use Custom Fields
and just name that field “Notes”.
Make it not appear on printed documents but show as a column in the Tab.
Thank you @Abeiku this was helpful. Note taking is useful for audit purpose especially to give reason why already concluded transaction is adjusted and who approved such.
I note that this last purpose is not what you originally mentioned. Documenting accounting actions is much different from managing and giving instructions to employees. The capability @Abeiku described has been available for years.
I really appreciate your timely response @Tut , actually my topic didn’t show details and custom field is what I have been using for long. But today, @Abeiku made me see more to it. Thanks
The reason that @Tut gave the response he did, is cause you making sound an “idea” not a question of how to leave notes.
I think that this discussion has ran its course and will close it.
