Manager Server in Ubuntu Crashed and all data is Missing

Hi all,
I need some help.
I’m running a manager server instances version 20.2.88 in ubuntu (on AWS LightSail) and it suddenly crashed. after i restart the machine, and run Manager again, it 's blank (a fresh Copy) . tried to find any .manager file in the whole machine i only find 00000000000000.manager.

anyone have some experience with that? or know a way to retrieve my data back?

thanks in advance.

Please restore it from the backup file you have. It is not like Windows where you can find the file in deep system folders.

All computers systems have a failure rate. Sometime due to hardware, some times due to software, some time due to human error.
When your computer fails you restore from the back ups you have been keeping.

If you have not had a robust back up methodology you may have to re enter all lost data.

You can try looking for your data in case it is still there.

  • Manager stores all business data files with an extension “.manager” so search your entire server for that.

  • When ManagerServer is run it has the option to specify where the data directory is placed. If you change that between invocations of ManagerServer then you will force it to start with a none of the old Manger business data files.

i think its path have changed from the original, but not the data have lost. the data can not be lost so easily. in your case the path have chenged and your data are there within your server somewhere

Thank you for this. yes. i did try to search the whole machine. and still can’t found it. the only .manager file is the one with 0000000 in it. but thanks for your advise. looks like i need a put proper backup system in plpace.

Having a proper backup system is always and everywhere a good idea.

The question is not “if needed” but “when needed”
