Manager Quit Unexpectedly, every time

Hi Folks,

I’m trying to get started with Manager. I discovered and downloaded Manager on my MacBook Pro today and each time I try to open it Manager unexpectedly quits.

I have searched through the forums and have not found anyone else with this problem.

  1. I know how to download applications on my Mac

  2. I have never had this problem with any other application that I’ve downloaded ever before

  3. The error is: Terminating app due to uncaught exception ‘NSInternalInconsistencyException’, reason: ‘Error (1000) creating CGSWindow on line 281’

    Here’s the Problem Report:

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I can’t remember anyone reporting such a problem. You’re a ways behind with your OS X updates. You might try updating your operating system (Apple is at 10.11.4 currently). There was a freeze-up problem back when I was running 10.10, but that disappeared. Unfortunately, it disappeared when two things happened: I updated to 10.11 AND there were some improvements in Manager. So we can’t be sure which cured the problem. Nevertheless, the issue was never as you describe.

If you aren’t willing to update your operating system, be sure you’ve installed Manager correctly and haven’t tinkered with anything. Follow these steps:

  1. Delete the Manager app from your Applications folder. (If you ever had it opened and entered data, don’t worry. The data is not in the app, but in a separate data folder.)
  2. Download the latest Manager version from Download | Manager.
  3. Open the disk image that appears in your downloads folder (wherever you have designated that to be).
  4. Drag the Manager icon to your Applications folder.
  5. At this point, if you see a dialog box telling you there is an older version and asking you what to do, you had the problem of multiple copies of Manager. Find the other copies, delete them, and go back to step 4.
  6. Open Manager. When told the app was downloaded from the internet, indicate you want to open it. This will only happen once with each update of Manager.
  7. Post the results to this forum topic, but leave out all that stuff you included except any error message itself. If someone needs that info, they will ask.

Make sure during this simple installation process that you don’t move any of the files that are installed.
