Manager 22.Linux.AppImage Freeze

Good Day

I’m using version 22.11.17.507 Desktop Manager-Linux-x64.AppImage with Linux Mint 21.

Every time since August 2022 when I had a power search and had to redo my PC and upgrade to Mint 21 from Mint 19.1 and downloaded the new version of Manager the problem started that Manager freezing on me.

I’m busy creating a new customer and copying from WhatsApp the details of the customer and when I copy it to manager, manager freeze on me, then I close manager and re-open it and start all over again just to get the same problem. I then tried typing the customer’s details and when I use the tab or scrolled with the mouse, manager froze.

Now I tried to add a new product and the same story is happening.

Where can I fix this issue I need to do 10 pages of quotes and this is busy to frustrated me very much I need to get these quotes out today still.

Blessings
Christo

PS. I re-download Manager again and reinstall it again and still the same issue.

Is this an internal error message?

Please post a screen shot of the actual error message, not a transcription.

No, it’s not it is just to show that GTK2,3,4 is on my PC.

There is no error message on a freezing program if it freezes you can’t do anything than just close and re-open it again. I ask for a solution to fix it, please.

I have the same problem, how do you solve it?

I’m also still waiting on an answer to the problem.

ok thanks, please let me know if you have found a solution…

These screenshots are not helpful. The best thing to do is to look at your logs (/var/log) and crash files (/var/crash). Look for log files that include “ERROR:” lines and similar obvious issues. Then copy the information pertaining Manager (what happened before a crash until the crash) and post in this forum.

Eko, wherein the (/var/log) file must I look? There is no (/var/crash).
If you read the begin of the thread then you will read what I said happen and it keep on doing the same thing over and over.

PS. There is another tread Linux Inability with the same related problem. That means it is something inside the Manager coding that cause the crash inside Ubuntu and Linux 20 and 21, as I didn’t have the problem in Linux 19.1.

See [Solved] webkit2gtk update error. - Linux Mint Forums that would deal with the gtk-4.0 error. However search the forum as you are advised to downgrade to gtk-3.0 to make Manager work well.

Why in the world must I downgrade to suit the program, rather upgrade the Manager Desktop so it works with the new LTS of Linux 20/21 and Ubuntu 20? Show me if Windows have the same issue and then tell the users to downgrade!!

Do not shoot the messenger please. Search the forum on this topic and you will see that the solution is to use gtk-3. I tried to help you so that you could use Manager but I am not pleased one bit with the passive aggressive answer. As such I will no longer provide support on this.

All the best.

Eko, sorry for it. Maybe if you were here in this situation then I would like to see how you will respond if you want to work and then the electricity is off and when it gets back on the internet access is off and finally, when you can start your computer you need to fix it again and when you read that you have to downgrade the OS to suit a program then you get very upset and that answer you gave me is not the solution to the problem either.

And I spend 10 weeks fixing my computer to work again.

Until the issue could be fixed why don’t try to use the server edition. You can install it locally and access it via your browser.

For installation follow this guide
https://www.manager.io/server/installation/ubuntu/

To restore your existing business follow the guide below:
https://www.manager.io/guides/8890

Is that server edition free? Because I don’t have access to any credit or money because I lost my business and start over.

Its a trial version which works the same way the your desktop version does.

Okay. So how long will it take to fix the other issue, it is only when you use the tab to move between fields or the mouse to move to another field when adding clients, suppliers and inventory when it freezes. I didn’t try something else to see if it is the same issue.

If I read all the forums on Linux and Ubuntu then it seems that GTK3 is depreciated so downgrading is not an option. The only other thing is to reinstall an older Linux OS and start again and I really not in the mood to do it again after 10 weeks of fixing my computer every time to solve an issue for some programs that don’t work.

Hi, Panashe,
I get this:

This site can’t be reached

127.0.0.1 refused to connect.

Try:

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

What now?

Normally manager runs on port 8080 so you need to type in your browser 127.0.0.1:8080
