Hello, I think just like we can fast record a receipt/payment on the view of a sales/purchase invoice, it can also be helpful to add a new receipt button on sales order view and a new payment button on the sales orders view. So that one can easily genrate sales invoices and purchase invoices from sales orders and purchase orders
I believe that this would be a much better way to deal with advance payments instead of the currently recommended method of using a clearing account.
I think the mechanism to achieve this complex linkage between Sales Quotes/Orders Invoice with Receipts is already in place for tracking invoicing and deliveries.
This will solve a common problem for many users.
I am going to place this in ideas in hopes @lubos likes this idea as well.
