I have started to email the invoices and quotations directly from the invoice screen. Some customers can not open it. What is the format of these documents.
I have sent it to myself. It is in a PDF format, but it shows the chrome icon on all the PDF files.
Email to yourself to see what happens. Most likely you are using a Desktop version which will attach a link to IP 127.0.0.1 which is only available on your local computer and not via the internet.
With PDF generator deemed an obsolete feature you must open the view screen of the Invoice then click on Print and use Print to PDF. This will save a PDF file that you can then send with your normal email program to the customer.
We use the obsolete PDF generator (is in Settings → Obsolete features) as we found this too cumbersome for customers including to have themselves (Server and Cloud will link to an accessible view) generate PDF files with Print to PDF from the link they receive.
Still hoping for a solid solution similar to the Obsolete PDF one.

When someone can not open a PDF file then it means their system does not have a PDF reader installed. So these customers need to install a PDF reader. You can ask them if they can open any other PDF file.
