Improvements to Custom Reports

I have been experimenting with custom reports lately and I am enjoying it. However, there are two things that I wish were different:

  1. I lose the previous custom report setup when I create a new report, it would be nice to have multiple reports at once.
  2. The entire setup is exposed to end users, instead of select fields.

What if we had custom report templates in the settings where admins can create a template once and for where end users can create multiple instances of and can change the Dates and Where fields.

Also, for completely blank report there’s one default entry called Quick Reports where users can create multiple instances of the report exactly like what is done now under Custom Reports.

To illustrate, the custom reports section can go like this:

Custom Reports
Quick reports (current setup only with multiple instances)
Template 1 (Created in settings just like transformations)
Template 2

That only happens if you edit the original report. Creating a new report does nothing to an existing report. And you can view and clone an existing report, then modify parameters.

Doesn’t cloning already provide that capability?

That’s true. Idk how I missed that.
