How can bank transactions in manager be listed like a bank statement

who will I see the bank statement of any bank in manager like the bank statement that i received from the bank to compare the entries.

You don’t see a statement like the bank’s. That describes transactions from their perspective. You can view registers of Statement Balance, Uncleared Deposits, and Uncleared Payments by clicking the blue numbers under those headings in the Bank Accounts tab. Those describe transactions from yours. Read the Guides beginning at Manager Cloud,

@arslan may be expecting manager to show bank details having a column for cheque numbers or instrument numbers and also showing transactions under Debit and Credit columns. I am waiting for the adding of custom fields which have “show us custom field as column” to spend money and receive money page then i can enter cheque numbers. Debit and Credit columns are good but i prefer the current display style.

You can use the search function to isolate a period of transactions, print them out and do a manual bank reconciliation with it.

Below is what i do during bank reconciliation.

  1. You must first open the account and search for all transactions for the period e.g type 11/2015 in the search box to display every transaction in November 2015 captured.

  2. Now right click anywhere on the page and go to print preview.

  3. Now use the tools on the toolbar (Shrink to fit, Landscape, portrait etc) to adjust the statement on the paper for printing.

I am hoping that the view button by the bank account that displays the last 10 transaction in that bank account will be developed to allow the display of all transactions in a particular period together with their account/contact , reference number and maybe a custom field (eg Cheque No.). That would be a better statement.

We have to understand that bank statement in electronic format usable by accounting applications is not common in developing countries (mine comes in PDF). so we can’t do Bank Reconciliation with Manager.io. We therefore need a neat print out for this important task. @lubos please look into this for us in the future.

I support @Abeiku’s suggestions about improvements to the accounts displays and the recent transactions view.

I will note that when using a date format in MM/DD/YYYY style, the search routine he points out will not work. There has been a mention previously about future improvements to the search function that would eliminate this problem.

I do not understand your question. Please illustrate with actual screen shots.

Dear,
we want to get statement of bank like statement of supplier or customer

in your Bank Accounts tab, click on the value under the column Actual balance and then at the bottom click on Export to copy it to any spreadsheet program.

There is no bank statement report. Bank statements come to you from the bank.

Dear,
i know this option but its better to get an statement
if u get by this way export date will be from today 09/12/2019 to 01/01/2019 so if you want from 01/01/2019 to 09/01/2019 by export you will not get balance after every transcation you can try

its imposiible by manager i don’t know why

@MODG, the date range on an imported bank statement depends on what you exported from the bank. Your bank may allow you to set the range, or you may have to use date ranges already offered by the bank (such as months). But Manager has no control over this.

After you have imported a statement, you can change the order of presentation of transactions by clicking on the date headings in the Receipts & Payments tab, or after drilling down by clicking on the balance for an account in the Bank Accounts tab. Click the date heading again to reverse the order.

Dear Tut,
if you reverse the date you will not see the balance after ever transaction.
when you get statement from your bank its from older date to new date so if we print from manager its from new to older so we cannot control like this

That may be true for your bank, but not necessarily for others. There are no standards for bank statement exports. No matter what Manager offered, it would not match the majority of what is out there. And many banks offer no export capability in any format. You cannot expect compatibility between two completely different systems. If importing bank statements is helpful for you, be grateful you can do it at all.

Unfortunately @MODG, @Tut has totally misunderstood your main point which is about the displaying (or the not displaying) of the running balance column when viewing the Bank tab > bank account transaction screen under a different date order which your screenshots in post #5 clearly illustrated.

You were only questioning the internal workings of Manager and not any external factors such as the actual statements from a bank or the importing of bank statements.

When looking at the initial bank account transaction screen under the Bank tab, you will see all the transactions with a running balance column, however, if you change (reverse) the date order, then you loose the running balance column. Which is correct.

Once again you are correct. The bank statement from the bank is ALWAYS from the opening balance first to the closing balance last therefore the date order is from the 1st to the 30th/31st. Whereas the bank transaction screen under the Bank tab by default shows the closing balance (30th/31st) first and then backwards to the opening balance (1st).

The reason for this, is that, a bank statement is a “report” whereas for Manager it’s a “screen view.” The screen view shows the latest transactions (30th/31st) first so as to prevent the user from needing to scroll down to see the latest - which could be pages. The running balance column disappears when changing the date order, so that the user isn’t mistaken into thinking that the top (first) balance shown is the latest balance.

The Manager statement for a supplier or a customer is a “report”, that is, they are created from opening balance to closing balance. Manager does not create a bank statement “report”, therefore you only have a transaction screen listing and export option. Such a bank statement “report” could be an idea.

It’s noted that the current date sort process has a defect, this bug will be detailed separately.

No, I did not misunderstand. @MODG did not bring up that point until post #10. Even then, the concern seemed to be more about date order.

This is simply not true, as I emphasized before. My own bank ALWAYS publishes statements in reverse date order, that is, with closing balance first and working backwards to opening balance. That presentation stresses current availability of funds rather than history.

Whether or not something is a “report” or “screen view” (whatever those mean in a particular paper or electronic context) is completely irrelevant. Order of presentation is a simple matter of design preference of whoever designed the presentation.

Then how come in all your posts, you failed to make any reference about the displaying of the “balance column”, yet that appearance / non-appearance of the balance column was their key issue / question.

Incorrect. In their very first post (#5), prior to your post (#6), they put their dilemma with regards to the displaying of the balance column in relation to a particular date order and illustrated with screenshots.

  1. IF I MAKE EXPORT FROM TODAY TO 2017 IT WILL BE OK
Balance column displays - first screen shot

  2. BUT I TAKE FROM 2017 TILL TODAY CANNOT
Balance column doesn’t display - second screen shot

you must create new report for cash account and bank account like supplier and customer
