Good day everyone,
I hope all is well.
I tried searching the forum for this, but I could not find the solution to my problem, so forgive me if I have duplicated a topic that has been discussed before.
From my experience with other softwares, when you create a goods receipt note (GRN), this updates the inventory level. E.g. 100 of Item A received 25/02/2025 will update Item A by 100 units. However, I noticed with manager.io, this is not the case. The amount of inventory is only updated once a purchase invoice is made.
My issue is. that for e.g. I have not received the purchase invoice from my supplier but I have received the delivery of goods and there is an urgent sale that needs to be done. With this scenario, I will have to wait for the supplier to send me their invoice, in order to capture the purchase invoice and then issue the goods through the sales invoice/delivery note.
I am not sure if there is a way to make the GRN increase the stock level instead of the purchase invoice. If so, please let me know.
All advice welcome.
P.S. I am using the latest version of the desktop app for windows. I am using windows 11
Please provide the version number, it is on the very bottom of each page. Also clearly look into the guides at https://www.manager.io/guides/inventory-items Note the difference between Qty owned (used Edit Columns in the Inventory tab if invisible) and Qty on hand.
Qty Owned
Shows the total quantity that has been acquired but not yet sold or written off.
Includes all general ledger transactions.
Delivery Notes and Goods Receipts have no effect here because they are not general ledger transactions.
Clicking on the Qty Owned figure displays a list of transactions contributing to the balance.
If you are using Qty to Deliver and/or Qty to Receive, the Qty on Hand shows your physical quantity on hand.
Increased by Goods Receipts.
Decreased by Delivery Notes.
ExcludesSales Invoices unless they also act as delivery notes.
ExcludesPurchase Invoices unless they also act as goods receipts.
Includes all other general ledger transactions.
Note: Sales Invoices, Purchase Invoices, Debit Notes, and Credit Notes affect Qty Owned but have no effect on Qty on Hand. Conversely, Delivery Notes and Goods Receipts affect Qty on Hand but have no effect on Qty Owned.
