I have had a quick look, but it seems, there is no option to export data from Manager to be imported into a different bookkeeping software, like xero. Is that correct or am I not seeing it? Thank you.
The same is true for Xero there is no way of exporting the data to others. However, Manager does allow creation of CSV files or you could even use the Batch Update instructions to get data (for example receipts or purchase invoices) in a spreadsheet and save as CSV and then import into another application.
Note you can not export the Chart of Accounts this way. Transferring between accounting software is not easy anywhere but most allow you to enter starting balances, statuses, etc. expecting you keep the old data somewhere to run in the other application when needed for auditing or the like.
Thanks eko… The batch update looks promising, probably for a few things, like customer base. Looking at my invoice list, the customer names are a just numbers and letters. I guess it might be easier to not import the whole lot and start fresh with starting balances. However, it would be nice to have the complete customer file in one system and not in two. Yeah, it’s not pretty. And I believe zoho books can export data in a csv file.
