@dalacor @mpb I wasn’t aware of the rounding for fields 6,7,8 and 9. The latest version (19.5.60) should be fixed on all points raised.
@lubos Vat Returns are still accrual. Do I need to manually change them to Cash - what they were before the update? Not a problem to do, just confirm.
When I did my last return a few weeks back box 7 was £1 more than what Manager says it is now. I am not sure if this is because Manager was rounding up incorrectly for box 7 in the past and you have fixed this now or if this is a different issue. Box 6 is now the same amount in Manager as what I filed my VAT return a few weeks back.
Yes, change them manually. This was a bug in upgrade script which would make all those reports on accrual basis. I fixed the bug for future users who upgrade but in your case since you are on current version you will need to change it manually. Sorry about that.
Can you check with Tax Summary
to see if the box 7 is being rounded correctly now?
I think the discrepancy is that in previous version, all the figures on the report have been rounded. G7 excludes G4. In previous version G4 would be a whole number, now it’s a decimal number. So this would mean G7 total could be lower or higher by £1 due to rounding.
@lubos No problem.I can change to cash. Not that many reports.
Tax Summary says £10,150,50 and vat calc says £10,150.
Should it not say £10,151 as I thought if it was 50 or over it was rounded up?
I can reproduce this issue. Fixed in the latest version (19.5.65)
Fixed Thank you!
Thanks lubos. Lovely piece of software and pleased that MTD has moved forwards. Well done.
@Tut I have gone back 5 posts but still can’t find WHERE you INDICATED the STEPS that MUST be TAKEN to SUBMIT LOCALIZED SETTINGS AND FEATURES for inclusion into the MTD implementation. I am in Ghana and yet to have it implemented.
Attention @lubos
@Daniel_Arthur, I did not indicate steps. I wrote:
The workflow is still under development.
@Tut Okay understood. Thanks.
I have contacted the developer of Taxoptimiser and asked him to create a template called Manager.io (which is the name Lubos prefers). This has been done.
I edited the Report Transformation so that the instructions for using Taxoptimiser details that you need to use the Manager.io template. I then uploaded this to the Manager Localisation portal.
Lubos has also updated Manager with regards to localisation.
- You will need to update Manager to the latest version
- Then you will need to go to https://www.manager.io/localizations/gb and download the Vat Calculation Worksheet.
- Go to settings in Manager (for the business that you are importing for) and import the downloaded VAT Calculation Worksheet
The general purpose Guide on this process has been updated, @Daniel_Arthur. You should read it before following @dalacor’s instructions to get an understanding of the overall workflow. See Add localized settings and features | Manager.
My instructions are more regarding updating the template so that Manager shows Manager.io on the VAT template documentation as the original template documentation was setup to use Sage 200 CSV.
So this is more advise on a very specific point rather than general instructions. However the link you pointed to is helpful for people to implement this particular update.
Thanks @Tut will definitely read follow the instructions on the page and revert if I face any issues.
I have downloaded and imported the “json” file for Ghana in relation to localization. However, the calculation sheet has not yet appeared on the reports tab. Am sure it is still in progress or I will have to provide inputs into that? @Tut and @lubos
The VAT Calculation Worksheet is only for the UK for MTD. It does not apply to other countries.
Ok thank you
You, if you are qualified and capable, or someone else who is will have to create the report. The entire purpose of the Localizations scheme is to allow users in approximately 200 countries to submit local report transformations. Manager’s developer does not intend to try to create and keep up with changes to such reports for every country in the world.
I’ve hit an issue after importing the VAT calculation worksheet localization which I don’t understand.
My VAT liability prior to downloading and importing the file was showing as zero. After importing the localization, I’m now showing a VAT payable amount equal to the total of every VAT transaction plus a suspense account within Equity summary of the same amount.
Prior to importing the localization, I was handling VAT as per the guide with a VAT Tax Payable accruing until the liability was discharged quarterly, which returned the amount to zero upon payment/receipt.
Anyone have any ideas as to why the import of the VAT calculation worksheet would result in the behaviour above? Thanks.
You may have a similar problems as shown here Suspense Account issues - #8 by Elfroar if so this may help
Alternatively, the localizations add specific country specific tax codes (defined by UUID not text or percentage). It is possible they now do not align with what you have used. Again looking in “Settings” → “Tax codes” should help
