No big deal but the date format I select in Settings/Date and number formats is not always obeyed. I have it set to 12/31/2022
When entering a new sales invoice or editing an existing one, the Issue date and due date have no leading zeros in the month and day portion of the date.
However, the list of Sales Invoices Invoice Date column has leading zeros for month and day and displaying a sales invoice by clicking View also includes leading zeros.
I’d prefer the leading zero display everywhere but there may be people who don;t like that so perhaps there should be a form available in settings that does not include leading zeros. Either way, date displays should be consistent wherever they are shown.
There used to be (until a couple years ago, if I remember correctly) more date format options. But they really weren’t necessary and tended to cause confusion during batch operations or copying data to spreadsheets. Since the choices were narrowed, I believe you are the first to remark on the specific lack you mention, and even you say you prefer the available option. The only complaints I can recall is from users who would like an alpha-numeric form. But those present translation problems. I don’t believe you will see regression in this area.
The main point of my post was to let people know of the inconsistent application of the selected date format. I hope it gets fixed at some point in the future but it’s not a big deal.
My note on more date format options was not really important since, as you noted, I have the format I want, I would just like to see it applied consistently throughout the product.
@csmb, what you are seeing with no leading zeroes is a feature of the date picker, which is a software function used by the program, not part of the Manager code itself. (The program does not use its own language.) The date picker returns in one format on the Create/Edit screen. Manager takes that date and displays it in the format you have specified in Settings when it displays a date variable in response to code in the program. So that is what shows up on tab listings, drill-down reports, completed transactions, etc.
I am not certain, but depending on your operating system, the date picker’s format may be adjustable by setting date/time preferences for your computer.
