Change the date format to the same as in Manager.

hi,
i added one more row with 13/12/2023 and the upload went through ;

Hello, for years we have imported excel CSV files onto manager, but the last few days the system gave errors on the imports saying the following: “File you are trying to upload has ambiguous date format.” but no changes were made to the CSV excel file ?

The date format is dd/mm/yyyy with the Date | Description | Amount each in their separate column, what could be the issue ?

@lubos

As you have not shown any of the data lines from the csv file, it is not possible to say what the problem might be

Here is the excel example

Check if your Excel spreadsheet has the same date format as you set in Manager

It would be better to show the csv file usjng Notepad or other text editor rather than Excel

Here is the notepad example

Yes we did check, it is the same format as Manager.

Your line with 02/12/24 includes two times a " and also () which are not allowed in CSV files as they indicate other type of delimiter than comma. Remove these and it should be fine.

We removed that line from the CSV file and tried the import again, but we still received the same error.

Then it still deals with the date format. Please show the screenshot of your Manager date setting.

Also ensure that you try different “Save as” formats. Although Excel prompts the below one first.

I always use the further below one, i.e. Comma-separated Values (not CSV UTF-8):

Try both

@NitaRTD can you send me your CSV to lubos@manager.io ? I will make some improvements.

The issue is that 01/12/2024 could be interpreted as 1st December or 12th January. And the rest of your CSV file doesn’t really give any hint whether your date format is dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy. However I think I should make an educated guess and assume the import covers the shorter period in which case the system would assume the date is 1st December.

I experienced the same issue when importing transactions on 01/01/2025 but after additional transactions were added from 02/01/2025 the import was successful.

Thanks @lubos how exactly can i send the CSV file to you ? Can i attache it to this comment ?

He wrote to email him!

Thank you, email send.
