Customizing Invoice for Trades person (like QB Pro)

Hi, I am new. I spent time looking for an answer for this and did not find one. I want to be able to know I can come here and get help in a kind manner? Because I could not on QB online ! I hate it. I loved QB Pro desktop and used it for 20+ yrs. and they just throw it away and make us all go online. Its different. Its not the same. I hate it. Someone told me about this program, so I am trying. I just need to know how to customize the Invoice like it was in QB for a painter.

So, on the first line, There was a date column, next column was Service ( Prep/Painting), next was description, next was price.

Business Name Invoice

5/2/23 Prep Painting Per proposal (lots of room for description) $3200.00

5/2/23 Payment by ck. Customer Payment $1000.00

5/7/23. Payment by ck. Customer Payment $1000.00

                                                                                                     Total Due: $1200.00

and I could do several lines, so that I could add in a customers initial payment, and it would subtract it - and on the bottom of the form would show the total due. Can this program do this? Anyone do this that could help me?

Same for Proposals. I need to customize it to have date, description and price column, and at the end of the page, specific wording that will appear on every proposal, with signature lines.
Please let me know before I put more time into this. Thank you so much. Appreciate.

Read the Guides, which answer all these questions.

I did, couldn’t figure it out. couldn’t someone else who has done this help me? Isn’t that what this Forum is for? People helping people?

Please try experimenting with Manager, that is really the only way of knowing if it can be made to work for you. It will never be the same as Quickbooks pro so please give up on that requirement.

To learn it it can be made to work for you

  1. Read through all of the table of contents of the Manager guides so you know what information is readily available. You then read individual guides as you refine specific features https://www.manager.io/guides/

  2. Download the desktop version and install it on your computer (it’s free) https://www.manager.io/download/

  3. Create (multiple) test business to try various approaches to each function you want (you can create as many as you want, again all free).

  4. After you have tried a couple of ways of doing something in Manager and it still doesn’t behave are you feel is required, ask on the forum about how to do a specific Manager task.

I am having a similar problem. All I want to do is add 2 columns to a Sales Invoice and re-arrange the column order if possible. I have read the guide over and over and tried testing the Customs Field but to no avail. I was advised that this topic had already been addressed on this forum. After following the thread I was given, I’m none the wiser.

Search for Edit Columns, you will notice that you can enable/disable columns such as custom fields on the Invoice and also reorder them.

I will try that. Thank you
