In Have Seen Many Topics On forum Asking for Multiple Selling Prices For Each Inventory Item and Experienced Forum Members Saying Not Possible to Include As It increase the Pricing entries Dramatically.
So, I have A Simple And easy Solution for this Problem which Gives Multiple Selling Prices Per Item And There is Not a Big Change in Pricing Entries:-
The Solution:-
If We Add Categories in Customers Master Data-
Like This
- Wholesale Customer
- Retail Customer
Whenever We Create a New Customer, We Will Assign it to One of the above categories according to his Status.
And
In Inventory Masters There Must Ba Fields for Indicating Price For Each category of Customer.
Like This-
Inventory Item A
Customer Category | Price |
---|---|
Cash Sale | Rs 500 |
Retail Customer | Rs 525 |
Wholesale Customer | Rs 480 |
- Wholesale Price is used when Sale Is made To A Wholesale Customer ( Customers Whose Category is Selected as Wholesale Customer ).
- Retail Price is used when Sale Is made To A Retail Customer ( Customers Whose Category is Selected as Retail Customer ).
- Cash Sale Price is used When We Do Not Select Any Customer While Making Sale ( Like Sale By Use of Receipt Tab ).
So, This Will Solve the Issue Of Multiple Sale Prices For a Single Inventory Item &
It will Not Increase the Price Entries to Millions @Tut.
Example- Let’s Have A Company With 2000 Customers Which Is divided into 3 Categories and There is 5000 Inventory Items.
So,
Current pricing Entries (Without Customer Categories) | New Pricing Entries ( With Customer Categories ) |
---|---|
5000*1 = 5000 | 5000*3 + 5000*1 = 20000 |
Conclusion:- With Implementation of Customer Categories Pricing Entries Will Just Increase By No of Categories +1 * No Of Inventory Items Only.
It Needs 9 Customer Categories And 100k Inventory Items to Have 1 million Pricing Entries.
This Will Solve The Multiple Times Demanded Feature Without Increasing Complexity of The Software.
Note:-
If Price Is Manually Inserted By the User While Making Sale. Then, The Price Recorded in Master Data Should Not Override The Price Inserted Manually.
This Will Prevent the Above Described Assumption.
But In Fixed Price Shops, there is very Less Chances of Negotiation with Customers
