Customer not listed when creating journal entry

I am trying to create a journal entry on a customer account. I select Accounts Receivable which then brings up the Customer field, however the customer is then simply not listed under the Customer dropdown - it seems like only a subset of customers are listed. What is going on here?
(Server Edition v23.4.7.760, server has been restarted)

Are some customers inactive?

In addition to @Joe91 comment on maybe having inactive customers, you may have to scroll down your list and you may have to wait a bit (may show a small prompt “…Loading more results…”)

I tested on Manager Server Edition v 23.4.6.759 on Ubuntu 20.04 TLS and agree that it is “sluggish” compared to some time ago as it seems to only load very few records at once (approx 10). @lubos may have changed somewhere a setting that only allows loading 10 records at a time, but when using server edition that is powerful enough you should be able to load more records as in this example at a time.

No, all customers are active (none marked as inactive).

I normally don’t scroll the list, I normally just search, and when I do then it just says “No matches found”. With other things like Quote / Invoice / etc then it works fine and can find the customer. Even if I do scroll the list and wait for it to load all customers then only a subset are listed.

Customers listed when creating journal entry:

Again, no customers are marked as “inactive”.

That does not illustrate your problem

The customer list is sorted in two different ways -
In the Customer list it seems to be sorted by name
In the Dropdown list, it seems to sorted by code

Here is the customer list when doing other things (e.g. creating a quote):

Show the edit screen for one of the missing customers - for example Alensy

I’m out of ideas, sorry

Thanks @Joe91. Seems like this is possibly a bug which needs to be brought to the attention of the devs? @Tut @lubos

@daneduplooy I still can’t reproduce this issue, however if you provide another screenshot searching for “Amana CC” in Journal entries, that would make a strong case for putting this in bugs.

The customer Amana does not appear in the list of customers you have shown in earlier posts, so it is not possible to confirm that this is a bug

@Joe91 Searching for “Amana” should show anything starting with “Amana”, so “Amana CC” should be listed. Nonetheless, here is a search for exactly “Amana CC”:

I would import a backup of your business to a test business, delete the customer Amana and then recreate the customer to see if there is a problem with that specific customer

Should be fixed in the latest version (23.4.16.773)

Confirmed fixed :+1::slightly_smiling_face:.
