Hi guys.
The company I’m invoicing needs “Hours” listed instead of QTY in the sales invoice tab so their computer can automatically read it. I can use a custom field but I still need manually calculate hours/qty/unit price. Effectively I’d just like “Hours” and “Unit price” as QTY and “Hours” are essentially the same. The older versions of manager used to enable this but I’m setting this up for someone to get their business going and I can’t seem to make it work easily. Is there a way to change the label on top of a standard sales invoice column? Thank you team.
Jim
You should consider using the Billable Time module for entering the time. The sales invoice will convert the time into a unit quantity - https://www.manager.io/guides?billable-time
Thanks for the tip brother, unfortunately their computer/billing system only notices the word (hours) and not QTY or time spent. I know it’s a pain but there must be a way to sort that.
Why would Manager have to change because someone’s computer system does not show flexibility and allow computer billing system will also take QTY?
Anyway the only way to have something like the below Sales Invoice is if you create Non-Inventory items in settings and set for each the unit to hours. You also need to create income and expense accounts to which you can assign these non-inventory items. NOTE that hours
will only show when all items listed have hours as unit of measure. As the billing system you referred to does not seem to recognize anything else this should in your case not be an issue and would work.
Mate excellent that will work perfectly. To answer your question about why would manager have to change etc, well it doesn’t HAVE to do anything. However having the ability to do things is important as no business is ever the same. Plus I like manager as I use it personally.
This particular company invoices electronically billions of dollars a year and it’s just how they operate, you play by their rules or not at all. So I’m very glad this is resolved easily. Thank you again.
