If I start up Manager.io from the start menu (in Windows) I have the toolbar at the top with “Businesses | Users | Preferences | Support” and in “Preferences” I can change the date format. I’ve changed it to DD/MM/YYYY.
However if I double click on my .manager file (which I keep on google drive rather than in the application data directory) there is no toolbar at the top and there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to change the date format. Also the change to the format that I had previously made doesn’t seem to be used in this case.
Is there a way to change the date format when loading an explicit .manager file?
The toolbar is intentionally missing when loading a file directly, that was a change made recently.
However, I would think it should still use that date setting when loading a file directly. So this might be a bug. I’m unable to verify it at the moment, perhaps someone else can test it on their end.
this is how the program is designed. you can read about it in the below topic.
i did not find any such problem on version 17.10.88
please check if you are opening the recently saved version of your business file. chances are that you may be opening a backup file you created before changing the preferences.
Thanks, yes, I know, I’m just providing background and context
I was definitely loading the correct file - I only have one and have never used the backup feature. Anyway I just re-loaded it now and the dates seem to be using the format I set! So it’s working now. Maybe there is a bug where after the first time you change the date format, if you load a .manager file directly it doesn’t immediately update until you close and re-open again.
